Here are three tips everyone should know to learn the guitar fast. So what is the best way to go about it?

This article will give you three tips to help speed up your learning process. Keep in mind though that these tips are not the only keys to success to learn the guitar. There are many practices and methods to study, these are just a good starting point.

Without a doubt the most important guideline is to practice daily. Just pick up the guitar and try the new things you have learned over and over again. Without practice it will not matter how much theory you learn. With that said we can move on to some ways to get started on improving your guitar skills.

First ? Learn Chord Theory, Not Just Chords

Starting with chords is the way most people begin to learn the guitar. Actually, chords are probably the best place to start. But learning to play chords and understanding what they are and how they work are two different things. Many guitar players don?t even know that chords usually consist of a tonic and a dominant, if you fall into this camp then you need to study up on chords some more. Power chords consist of two notes, the 1st and the 5th.

Then there are chords that include seconds, thirds, or sevenths. It is a great asset to be able to construct some common chords, and be able to create your own. It is also important to be able to identify a chord.

However, just knowing some chord names and positions won?t cut it, you will not get very far with just that knowledge; and you will not be able to memorize all the chords as there are thousands of them.

Second - Study the Guitar Scales

After learning chord theory it won?t be necessary to know all the scales. But it is important to know three of the scales. These are the major, minor, and pentatonic scales.

Those are the three scales that rock music is founded on, and are commonly used in all types of music. And you should know the blues scale if you plan on playing the blues. Any other scale you may need to know in the future can be found online.

Third ? Finding the Right Balance

This last guideline is to find the right balance between having some fun playing your guitar and setting aside time for studying theory. But if you spend all your time trying to have fun you will not progress, and if you spend all your time studying theory you will become bored with guitar.

The guitar is a blast to play, but it is not fun to play beginner stuff over and over again, the guitar should be fun but intensive to learn. Balance is important so you can continue having fun while challenging yourself to learn the guitar to your full ability.

Before you go off on your journey to become the next big rock star, I want to give you one last piece of advice to help you learn the guitar fast. Take a look at learning another instrument alongside the guitar; just playing with an acoustic guitar can be very beneficial.

The subtle differences in between the two instruments will challenge you while keeping you from getting bored. You can find some great tips about acoustic guitar with these easy guitar lessons. If your into something else then Music Master Pro can help as they teach several different instruments (a big help if you want to start a band).
